If we’re gonna argue this seriously; it’s also ludicrous to believe that simple arrogance is single-handedly responsible for a species with our technological achievements being unaware of sentient life outside their native planet.
Good, intelligent people argue with reason that they do not understand why we are not being contacted out in the open already – and the only possible explanations are that they either don’t exist, are NOT CAPABLE or are NOT INTERESTED in making contact with us for reasons that exceed our limited intelligence.
If there is ANY arrogance at all involved, it’s due to this limited intelligence being unable to conceive such a complex situation; involving an actual CONSPIRACY, an intent to deceive by itself so ARROGANT that we deem unlikely that any form of sentience would spend so much energy to keep us unaware.
