Don’t get me wrong; I think it’s great news and ultimately beneficial for mankind.
But I’ve become a bit desensitized by things that look like movie trailers… Teasing people like it’s an upcoming entertainment in their ‘real lives’ rather than some truth they could look for right now.
It’s weird how anything feels like fiction when presented like that; there’s a thrilling music and the narrator announces slowly: “This November… you will learn… that babies… may not… be brought… by storks!” and then, quotes from people/institutions you supposedly ‘trust’ endorsing the thing? Eh…
Yeah I agree. I guess americans can’t help it but to do it like that.
I understand the frustration. Such films were exciting in my childhood. Later, I even recorded them. As you can see, there are more and more and more. And I guess they don’t teach about life in the universe in schools; the news is also very sparse. And we reach a cognitive dissonance. A child returns from school after history class, turns on YouTube, and watches the true history of humanity. XD
Although I’m a bit excited to see this documentary, I’m not getting my hopes up too much. For us, there probably won’t be anything truly new — maybe just a few interesting references. For others, the mainstream media will likely ignore it (though I’m surprised the documentary itself seems fairly mainstream), and for those who do talk about it, it’ll probably be more in the realm of entertainment, as John said.
