Solar winds are currently traveling above normalcy at “591.1” km/s on today, Friday, January 2nd, 2026, in the mid-morning hours (EST), and will likely go higher as we move further into the first month of the new year of “2026”, and a coronal mass ejection is closer to striking Earth today at some point in the afternoon (EST).

Protons — mostly from beyond our solar system but some from our Sun — have tremendously and powerfully plunged into the planetary magnetosphere. “X-Class” solar flares are expected.

All of these energetics are creating a louder “cosmic concert” with a “6.6” magnitude quake having occurred in Mexico, and almost 120 quakes have happened around the world in the past 24 hours at various magnitudes — mild to strong. “G2” geomagnetic (highly-charged radiation) storms (or higher) are expected to occur today and tomorrow.
