Sugar is sweet, and so is love

Greetings! From heart to heart in this moment we speak, I am KejRaj!

Sugar is sweet, and so is love. Both bring comfort, warmth, and a sense of safety. From the start of life, sweetness is linked to care; a mother’s milk is sweet, and feeding is one of our first experiences of being soothed. Over time, the brain connects sweetness with relief, so sugar can begin to feel like a substitute for love.

Children who grow up with affection learn to feel love within themselves. But those who lack warmth or emotional security may grow up feeling empty or abandoned. As adults, they often search for ways to fill that space. Sweet foods can become one of those ways, offering a quick emotional lift that does not last.

Eating sweets during stress or loneliness is often an attempt to calm difficult feelings. It tries to satisfy emotional hunger with physical sweetness. The comfort is temporary, and the deeper need for connection remains.

Healing begins with awareness and self kindness. Instead of judging the craving, pause and ask what you truly need. Reflection and supportive relationships can help heal old wounds. Over time, caring for yourself with compassion can replace sugar with a deeper, more lasting sense of emotional nourishment.

That is all for today!
