There is quite a profound sense of discord and discombobulation at the current time as many of us are still reaching deeply into the quieter moments, but many more are pulling hard in the other direction, trying to return to the normal we used to have. Energies are fraught and chaotic for many as they push against the system, staking their claims to ‘normal’. Yet, a great many more of us remain in the quieter moments, not yet ready (or indeed willing) to charge back out into life once again.
In many ways, this is to be expected as the pendulum of life swings from ‘lockdown’ to what many perceive as ‘freedom’. It’s strange though, as for me, and for a great many others, ‘lockdown’ has been freedom as it’s been a breathing space and a time to rest, appreciating the really important things in life. It’s often only when we pause that we realise how caught up we’ve become in things to do, people to see and places to go. When this all comes to a stop, we can start to work out our true priorities in life. Many have railed against this, pushing hard to get back to ‘normal’, but those of us who have embraced the stillness have changed beyond recognition.
It’s not the virus that makes me want more quiet and stillness, it’s an awareness as to just how little of this I had in my life. It’s not the virus that’s made me focus on what I really want in life, it’s my willingness to turn to face the isolation and to make friends with myself and the stillness in which I’ve found myself.
It’s as though we have reached a critical turning point, a gateway that has the potential to transform our lives forever as it’s the choices we make now that will shape and define the path ahead: from how we live individually, to how we live with the earth and every being that inhabits her. Priorities have shifted as people have found joy in the simple things, life doesn’t have to be about being busy 24/7, travelling the world, constantly engaged in the chitter chatter of life. Whilst this situation was enforced upon us, it’s those of us that have found ways to embrace it and overcome the difficulties it’s presented that have grown immensely (and I’m not talking waistlines!).
A new wave of courage is surfacing, compassion is flowing more freely and we each begin to see ways to step towards a new way of living and being, away from judgment, hate and greed. Away from self-focus and towards collective consciousness. No more ‘them and us’, just us. Humans. We’re all in this together, after all. The quiet of the last few months has touched my heart with a profound compassion that now looks beyond the noise and distraction of the life I used to live. I’m far from perfect, and I still stumble and fall along the path as I seek out a deeper sense of understanding, but the path of life is full of pot-holes and dead-ends. I could let this defeat me or I can choose to embrace them as a part of the bigger picture of the experience of my life.
The ‘to do’ lists that once shaped my life have faded away. Of course, I still have things to do, but the pressure has shifted and it’s now easier to realise that some of those things ‘to do’ really aren’t very important or necessary. As more and more clutter falls away, we’re left with the bare bones of our true priorities and it’s these that give us the clarity as to how to move forwards. It takes courage to embrace this, as much of the clutter and inessential in life brings us comfort and routine, but the more we let go, the less we have to hide behind, leaving us unable to distract ourselves from truth. As the truth surfaces, we may struggle or wriggle with discomfort, but intuitively we know that we’re ready now to live a more wholehearted and truthful existence.
I wish you all kinds of wonderful.
The theme of letting go looks set to play a starring role in your life in the weeks and months ahead as you begin to think about your true priorities in life. You are constantly changing and evolving, and you are not the same person you were even a month ago, let alone a year ago. Whilst this could be said for everyone, the winds of change seem to have gathered a powerful momentum in your heart and soul as you no longer want to keep on keeping on in life, your heart longs to live life to the full and to wholeheartedly thrive. For a long time now you have tried to be everything to everyone and tried hard to get your life ‘right’. Yet, right for whom? You have started to explore this question a little more deeply lately and you’ve realised that you’ve spent a great deal of your life trying to be the person you thought you ought to be, but you are ready now to be the person you want to be.
You may be lucky and find that there is no difference between these two states, but there is a good chance that the more you look, the more you will see just how far you’ve deviated away from your own ‘bigger picture’ over the years. It’s not that you’re unhappy, but you’ve lost that inner buzz and sparkle that fizzes up to let you know that you’re living life to your full potential and this is your guide as you begin to think about what you really want from your life. Whilst you are a determined and motivated soul, don’t feel that pushing ahead is always the right choice; listen to your intuition to guide you, and have the courage to believe in yourself more as you are a bright, vibrant soul brimming with passion…
As you continue to turn towards living a more self-compassionate life, there is a sense that you are beginning to focus more towards living the life you love and loving the life you live. You have spent a long time juggling a vast array of ‘ought’s’, ‘must’s’ and ‘should’s’, trying to keep everyone happy and doing your best to juggle the wants, needs, dreams and whims of others. Whilst this is admirable, over the years, you have lost sight of your sense of self and your own dreams have faded away. Whilst they haven’t vanished completely, you have depleted your own inner resources so much that your dreams feel almost out of reach, making you wonder if you can ever bring them back to life. All is not lost, but it’s important now to re-establish some balance in order to restore your equilibrium and sense of self.
What pushes you to run yourself ragged for others but not to have the self-compassion to draw boundaries and to give yourself the time and space you need to thrive? It’s time for you to learn the art of saying no and honouring yourself far more! Living the life you love and loving the life you live is a good focus for you throughout July as you start to think about how to inject some more joy, passion and vibrancy back into your life. Of course, you’re not one to walk away from responsibilities, but you do need to think about at least re-shaping them, so they don’t deplete you quite so much as this leaves you feeling overwhelmed and overloaded, and unable to explore your own dreams and potential. This is your time now to find some breathing space, to re-centre and re-align your heart and soul in order to re-shape and re-define your life from the inside, out…
As you continue to seek out balance and equilibrium in your life, July looks set to be a month of realisation and inspiration as you begin to gain a clearer sense as to your true priorities in life. For a long time now you have been caught up in the waves of other people’s lives, and whilst this has seen you go on some interesting travels, you have been acutely aware of just how far you’ve been drifting away from your own path. Whilst there is much to be said for meandering through life, as there are always things to learn and people to talk to, there is also a need for you to focus on achieving that balance you so crave as this gives you the space to think clearly and to know yourself more deeply. As you know, the more you look and the more you ask, the more there is to find out; it’s like a spiral of possibilities that swirls out of you, and the more you seek, the more you need to seek.
Now this doesn’t mean that you should shut down completely, but there is a need for you to find ways to find some quieter time when you are neither enquiring nor digging; just resting in the cradle of the swirl in your consciousness. The ‘art of being’ looks set to take centre stage now as you stop trying so hard to know all there is to know and start accepting that it’s often the unknowable nature of life that makes it so interesting and intriguing; it’s time to find some breathing space amongst the constant swirl of thoughts, possibilities and ideas churning around your head. It’s time now to let go a little, to breathe more deeply and to live your life more wholeheartedly once again…
Being more than the person you think everyone wants you to be continues to take centre stage throughout July as you start to explore this a little more deeply in terms of who wants you to be what, why and how come you hadn’t noticed this before now? Of course, it’s a natural human tendency to go with the flow and to be the person you feel you need to be in order to thrive. It’s been so long since you’ve questioned this of yourself that you may well be surprised at the answers rising up from deep within you; if there was ever a competition held in the art of keeping on keeping on, you would win it hands down. Well, you would win it assuming you don’t hand the title over to someone else because that’s what you think they would want you to do. Your giving, generous nature is far-reaching, but the cost is a sense that you often treat yourself as a second-class citizen.
Of course, you can’t change the essence of you, but you can change how you move through life. You have become so used to being the person you feel you need to be, you’ve completely forgotten to be your true self. It’s as though you got lost a long time ago and decided the best strategy was to keep going with the flow of everyone else in order to get on with life. Well, it’s time to pause for a while in order to take a good look at the life you are living and to decide if it still resonates with your heart and soul. Sometimes asking difficult questions is hard, and it can be easier to ignore them and keep on keeping on, yet you have reached a threshold and you want change. Believe in yourself and be you…
As you continue to examine and explore that great big jigsaw puzzle of life, there is a sense that you are beginning to peel back more layers in order to step beyond the chatter, distractions, noise and ‘stuff’ of your everyday life. It’s only now you’ve stepped back that you can see just how choc-a-bloc your life has become with things to do, people to see, places to go and ‘stuff’, much of it mundane, inessential chitter-chatter that just fills up your life. It’s no wonder you don’t have time to rest, ponder or reflect as there’s just no room for it amongst the ‘stuff’. It’s so easy to get lost in the chatter of life, keeping on without ever really thinking about why you do what you do. Life becomes a habit, and that habit slowly becomes so ingrained, it’s hard to see beyond it. Yet, you feel stale and out of kilter, so you know it’s time to shake things up.
It’s time to ask yourself why you do what you do and why stuff has become so important? Are you trying to keep yourself busy and distract yourself away from other areas of your life or have you just got so caught up in the flow of life that you haven’t even noticed how ‘busy doing nothing’ you’ve become? The truth is rarely comfortable, but it’s important to explore this now as you are on the cusp of creating some significant change in your life. Of course, maintaining the status quo is comfortable and knowable, but you long to roar freely, to explore your creativity and to feel the wind in your mane. Surely life isn’t about living the least-worse option, it’s about living the best possible life in the best possible way? It’s time to breathe deeply and set yourself free…
July looks set to be a month to take a long, deep and life-affirming breath, letting go of doubt, angst and uncertainty in connection to all aspects of yourself and your life. You have been caught up in a cycle of having so much to do, see and be, that you have found it hard to find time to rest or relax. In many ways, you have become lost in the busy-ness and pedestrian side of life, and whilst you are still managing to go with the flow, you feel the disconnection intensely as it has created a deep sense of discord within your heart and soul. Of course, feeling a sense of disconnection isn’t new to you as you frequently find yourself torn in two, trying to fit your uniqueness into a normal-shaped hole in life; part of you wants to fit, but the other side of you wants to dance freely in life.
There can be no denying that you are a complex soul, and it seems clear that you want to live the best life, but it’s important to start to let go of the angst and doubts you carry in connection to yourself, your path and your gifts, and instead start to believe in yourself more. You are a vibrant and passionate soul, and you have reached a crossroads of inner knowing and deeper understanding as to your true priorities in life. You have a choice: keep on keeping on or embrace a brand-new way of living and being that celebrates your uniqueness, vibrancy and flair. Embracing your gifts sounds easy, but you know only too well that few things in life are straightforward, yet don’t try to complicate matters by over-thinking; listen to your heart and let your intuition lead the way. Breathe deeply, lighten the load and love being you…
As the lighthouse of your soul continues to beam brightly into darkened skies, there is a sense that you are beginning to realise just how precious you really are; this isn’t big-headed or egotistical, just an observation of fact. Whilst you’ve always had an awareness of yourself and often show yourself love and compassion, it seems you’ve struggled to wholeheartedly love, honour and accept yourself exactly as you are. Accepting yourself doesn’t mean giving up on aspirations nor does it mean you’re letting yourself go, it actually means you’re letting go – setting yourself free from the constraints you place upon yourself to be more, do more, achieve more and know more. You are one of life’s seekers, always looking to evolve and grow, flourish and blossom; you want to know the existential workings of the universe and have a clear sense as to why things are the way they are.
You have discovered a lot over the years, some of which has been useful, other things less so. Yet, this hasn’t stopped you on your quest to ‘boldly go where no soul has gone before’ in terms of new ways of thinking, exploring new ideas and opening up to new levels of conscious awareness. Despite your far-reaching awareness and phenomenal gifts, you do still find it hard to wholeheartedly love yourself and show yourself genuine self-compassion. The reasons for this are complex, but a lack of self-worth and a slight reluctance to grab hold of life with both hands are both involved. You have spent a long time on the side-lines of life waiting for the right moment to blossom, and whilst you have achieved a great deal, it’s time now for you to set yourself free, to love yourself and to let that lighthouse beam brightly as your light has great purpose, so let it lead the way…
As you continue to contemplate what makes your heart sing, there is a sense that July looks set to be a month of inner revelation and discovery as you move closer towards truth in your life. Truth is a word that conjures up many different things for many different people; in a way, truth is unique to the individual as no one sees the world in the same way. Truth is the willingness to gaze deeply into the mirror of your soul in order to look openheartedly at all you can see. This can make for an uncomfortable experience as there are some aspects of your life that are not the way you would want them to be, and the more you acknowledge this, the more inclined you are to embrace the need for change. Of course, just because you can see your truth doesn’t mean you have to act on it, but there is a deep sense of unrest within your heart and soul; a longing to inject more purpose and meaning into your life.
You may be somewhat reluctant to wholeheartedly embrace truth, as once you’ve acknowledged it, you can’t then ‘un-acknowledge’ it or deny its existence in your life. On one hand you want to dive right in and face your depths, but your more cautious side is sitting on the fence, wondering if knowing more will just upset the apple cart of your life rather than inspire positive change. You certainly are a conundrum; you want your heart to sing, but only if it’s a straightforward process! This is over-simplifying things a little, but you get the drift. It’s time now to re-centre and re-align your thoughts with your actions in order to either keep tending that apple cart in situ or to upend it and make an apple pie or some delicious cider…
As you continue to re-centre and re-align your heart and soul with your hopes, dreams and aspirations, there is a sense that you are beginning to gain a stronger awareness of yourself, your life and your path ahead. You have managed to bring your focus much more strongly into the present moment enabling you to be more conscious of your choices, decisions and thoughts. There is a rising aura of peace circling within you as you stand on your own ground more, saying No (sometimes Yes!) when the needs arises even when this sometimes feels counter-intuitive or against the grain. Trusting your own instincts and following your own lead are so important now as it’s your ability to listen to your heart and soul that will help guide you forwards.
Speaking your mind has always been a doubled-edged sword for you, whilst you can say what you feel, you then often have to face an upsurge of guilt rising up within which can overwhelm you and push you towards bending and flexing to accommodate the needs of everyone but yourself. This then creates waves of frustration as you berate yourself for not standing firm. Stop beating yourself up for being human and instead start to show yourself more tenderness and compassion as the key to finding a way through this is to accept your human-ness and realise that life is rarely as straightforward or as clear-cut as you would like it to be. Speaking your truth and honouring yourself more look set to remain centre stage for the foreseeable future, learn how to lean into the discomfort of saying ‘No’, open your heart to saying ‘Yes’ and believe in your own phenomenal intuitive ability to know the difference. Let the peace rising up within you flow freely and hold you in a gentle embrace…
As you continue to contemplate the path between where you’ve been and where you’ve always wanted to be, there is a sense that you are beginning to shift your focus more consciously towards where you are. You have always used time as a reference to give your life context and meaning, past experiences shape future aspirations, past memories gently guide your dreams. You often carry a great deal of nostalgia for yesteryear, feeling a sense of the simplicity that once used to shape and define life. In many ways you long for a simpler life as you have grown weary of the trappings of modern life and yearn for a quieter and more enriching existence. The more you have looked at the bigger picture of your life, the more you have realised just how important it is to be fully awake in the present moment as it’s the only moment you truly have.
Whilst you have learned a great deal spanning time and space, learning from the past and aspiring for the future, you have come to the conclusion that it’s the present moment where the true magic resides as it’s in the present moment where you have the power to create change. You have grown weary of aspiring to do more, be more and achieve more, and your goal now is for balance, peace and a sense of joy and contentment in your life. This may not feel overly dynamic, but that’s the point, it’s a state of being, not a state of doing. You seem ready now to set yourself free in order to live more in accordance to your hopes and dreams. The more you stand consciously in the present moment, the more you will appreciate just how blessed you truly are to breathe deeply into life whilst allowing life to breathe deeply into you…
As one chapter comes to an end, another begins; this is the way of life, a kind of natural order. Yet, you know that endings and beginnings are never as clear cut as this, as you are rarely able to draw a line under one chapter as it overflows into too many other areas of your life. As a result, although you may get a sense that a chapter is coming to an end, it’s usually more of a subtle change of awareness than a bells and whistle kind of event. You have been aware of the shifting sands of change for quite some time now, and whilst the details still seem quite nebulous and out of reach, there is a sense that you are stepping beyond the everyday pedestrian nature of life towards something more inspirational and life-affirming.
On one level, your soul is dancing and brimming with energy as you shimmy across the dance floor of life with a sense of freedom rising up from the core of your being. In some ways, when you look around at your life, nothing has changed, but everything has at the same time. It’s as though the chapter coming to an end has crept up behind you and slightly taken you by surprise, yet, at the same time, you are more than ready for the change! Shimmying and hand-jiving across the dance floor of life may sound like some kind of romantic idyll, but it doesn’t have to be. Dancing is a state of being, it’s a heightened state of awareness where your intuition is buzzing with confidence and a deep sense of knowing. It’s time to trust your heart and soul to guide you now, to lead you across the dance floor and to open up your heart towards the next new chapter in your life…
Embracing the essence of your fluidity takes centre stage throughout July as you start to see just what a wonderful gift this is in your life. You have long felt as though you are being carried by the currents of life, like a piece of driftwood, taken wherever the flow leads. However, this perspective is more of a convenience that a true reflection as you are not driftwood, you are a creator of the currents! Whilst you don’t like to be big-headed about such things, you are not a passive force in life and it’s important to acknowledge and ‘own’ this. Admittedly, you rarely charge along like a bull in a china shop, but you’re also less than subtle as your presence is colourful, vibrant and full of passion. In a way, the more you distance yourself from this gift, the harder it is for you to realise your full potential as accepting your power really is the first step towards channelling it more rewardingly in your life.
Of course, you’re wise enough to know that even though you create the currents, you are not completely in control of what happens next, as life doesn’t work like that; there are many different currents at any one point in time. What your current creating ability does bring you though is wisdom and a sense of knowing as to when to act, when to rest and when to let go. As you are deeply empathic, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when life gets tough, but rather than trying to anchor yourself to a point in time, the more you embrace your fluidity, the more you will flow through such challenges with grace and poise. Whilst you may not be able to escape the storms, it’s time for you to let go and dance freely in the currents of life
