Stunning images! Infinite thanks for posting them. In Canada it was not visible unless you were in Newfoundland where it was partially visible… Look forward to next one on August 2 2027.
I had a lot of fun watching it with some friends. In the south of France, it reached 95% obscuration.
We also befriended some other people who were there. France had been out of eclipse glasses for weeks ā as usual, France is not very good at planning ā but I was surprised that so many people were interested.
I read some studies or articles saying that after an eclipse, people tend to read more, become more curious, and show more interest in poetry or science.
What we saw through the glasses was a bit meh, but with my good gear, it looked great.
The last eclipse in France was in 1999, so Iām really happy I had the chance to experience this moment and take those pictures.
And the astrology of it is pretty crazy.
Can you elaborate on the astrology? At least some quick points?
Some articles have been posted about it for a while.
The big three outer planets ā the transpersonal ones ā are all either in trine or sextile with one another. Thatās the zeitgeist.
For the eclipse, Mercury and Venus, which are fast-moving planets, were making oppositions to two of the big three. So we have a pattern with two oppositions and a lot of trines and sextiles, all interconnected.
Also, the eclipse ā which is a New Moon ā was in Leo, and Jupiter is in Leo as well.
Well, I donāt have the energy right now to launch into a full interpretation, but I can tell you that technically, this is quite something.
On another note, my dog has been unusually restless today, and several people told me that their babies ā or they themselves ā felt unusually restless too.
Of course, thatās a tiny sample size and very subjective.
By the way, did you know that the Sun and the Moon have almost exactly the same apparent diameter as seen from Earth?
Earth seems to be the only place in the Solar System where this is the case. Jupiter and Saturn have many moons, yet nothing quite like this.
Symbolically, I find it very fitting: the archetypes of Eros and Logos are visually equal. And when the Moon obscures the Sun, that becomes interesting as well.
Makes sense if you subscribe to the theory that the sun and the moon are under the firmament (dome), and not millions of miles away. š
I don’t subscribe to that therory, but that still makes sense to me.
