The Hummingbird
The riddle you have spoken is the key.

Without commenting on Mariners’s post, but just in general:
Logically speaking, and in practice in certain situations, you’re right.
Also, in certain situations Christina is right. Sometimes people say [politically correct statement / denial that they are what they clearly are], BUT [then they give their actual opinion.] Or [social nicety they don’t really mean], BUT [then they give their actual opinion].
If you leave the world of logic and enter the world of “grasp what people really are saying under the social niceties surface”, then Christina’s approach is right in certain (though not all) situations.
Indeed I read it as a general statement.
When people don’t speak truth in the first place of course words’ actual meanings get twisted.
