“When devoted love for God has become strong and intense, it will burn away all sins. Until then, a person whose love is still growing must see bad as bad and good as good. People who have grown strong in their love for God may see bad as good, may see only good…” (Jesus and Sai Baba, Govinda Sai Publishing House, p. 426)
JJK: Does that mean that evil dissolves the greater a person’s capacity for love is?
SAI BABA: Evil does not disappear, but the lover perceives the good in evil; he can see it, and he can see nothing but good “everywhere”.
Love for God and love for life burn away all sins and remove all evil. As long as you see bad as bad and good as good, your love is still growing.
JJK: For me, that’s what all spiritual endeavors boil down to: increasing love for all that is. Why is that so difficult? I already fail at the smallest things. Why is unconditional love, seeing the good – even in evil – so difficult?
SAI BABA: Bound to this reality, you are unfree to recognize the freedom of love. As long as these bonds to this world exist, you can only experience an expression of love, never give perfect love. Only with outward liberation and inward detachment from this world will this mystery be revealed to you.
JJK: So, it’s connected to this earthly reality that we often fail in love. It’s not an excuse, but rather due to circumstances?
SAI BABA: Circumstances that practically demand you increase the potential of love.
Only through evil can you gain profound insights into good on this plane; only through fear can you reach the truth of love on this plane. To perceive fear as an illusion and everything outside the spectrum of love as deception—that is the practice that leads humanity, life after life, to Earth.
What is sin?
JJK: For many people, sin doesn’t even exist! What is sin?
SAI BABA: Choosing fear instead of love, darkness instead of light, and death instead of life—on all levels of being, this is the formula of sin. Everything that arises or is done outside of your divine nature is sin.
JJK: I still barely understand and comprehend it – seeing the bad as good. How?
SAI BABA: By recognizing the essence! And the essence is: Everything that exists – is GOD.
I love you endlessly.

Very profound!
Everything IS God.
It seemed to take me ages to learn that on a planet of duality, the darkness HAS to exist in order to appreciate the light.
A non-duality planet where all needs are met doesn’t provide the needed challenges in which experiences exist as lessons.
When I first encountered the info that prior to coming into an incarnation, we choose what lessons we need to learn. As a result, the circumstances are set up in advance of our arrival which would provide the best conditions to learn those lessons.
That we choose our parents, body, levels of abundance, etc. was initially mind boggling for me. “Why did I choose that which I did?”
On multiple occasions, though, I have been able to look back on that which I’d experienced… highly challenging and undesireable; Yet come to see that it was all for the best. That I am much stronger and blessed for having had those challenges. Above and beyond this, I was further able to see these as stepping stones on the Divine Path.
I have also learned that no matter where one is on the journey, that it’s the perfect place to be. Guidance has always been provided… even when it seemed to be lacking.
