People often want to know what is real, but only as long as the truth does not threaten their identity, beliefs, relationships, or sense of security.
When reality contradicts what they have invested themselves in believing, the mind can protect the belief rather than examine it. In this way, the greatest barrier to truth is sometimes not ignorance, but your attachment to what you already believe. ~KejRaj
