Pamela Anderson Says President Donald Trump Should Pardon Julian Assange

free world news 2 eraoflightdotcomActress Pamela Anderson has called on US President Donald Trump to pardon WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Assange is currently awaiting extradition to the US to face charges under the espionage act, because he helped whistleblower Chelsea Manning release classified information proving that the US military was committing war crimes and killing civilians in the war on terror.

Anderson has been an advocate of Assange for many years, and previously visited him while he was in prison and also while he was in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the UK.

Earlier this month, Anderson appeared on “Mornings with Maria” where she briefly discussed her friendship with Assange and her thoughts about his case.

“To see him be crucified like this is difficult for me because I know him as such a mild-mannered, sweet man and he’s doing the best he can,” Anderson said.

She also said that she wants Donald Trump to pardon Assange.

“I hope that President Trump will pardon Julian Assange. That’s my wish,” she said.

At a recent extradition hearing for Julian Assange, a psychiatrist testified that the embattled Wikileaks founder is experiencing strong hallucinations and is at a high risk of suicide. Professor Michael Kopelman, an emeritus professor of neuropsychiatry at King’s College London, said that Assange has been hearing voices and has confessed to a priest that he was making preparations to kill himself. These preparations included drafting his will and writing a goodbye letter to his family and friends.

The embattled journalist has lived through some extremely intense conditions while being detained over the past several years. Last week it was revealed that US intelligence agencies once discussed plans to poison or kidnap Assange while he was living in the Ecuadorian embassy.

A witness recently testified during his extradition hearing that, “There was a suggestion that the door of the embassy would be left open allowing people to enter from the outside and kidnap or poison Assange.”

His life in the embassy was constantly monitored by western intelligence agencies, who put relentless effort into bugging his room and listening in on all of his communications with activists and attorneys. There was even a plot to steal the diaper of a baby that visited the embassy to determine whether or not Assange was the father.

According to the Guardian, pressure on Assange from US intelligence agencies has actually increased significantly under President Trump, despite often-repeated claims that WikiLeaks formed some sort of alliance with Trump prior to the 2016 election.

Assange was reportedly wise to some of these spying techniques and attempted counter-measures to keep himself safe and his communications private. Assange regularly turned on “white noise” sounds while having important conversations in an attempt to muffle the words for any microphones that might be in the room. Intelligence agencies also attempted pointing laser microphones at the windows of the rooms where Assange was staying. It is not entirely clear what type of evidence or information they were able to gather about Assange while they were spying on him.
