Planetary Illuminations 10/2017

astroscopeThe most important influence in October is the transition from Jupiter into Scorpio. After spending the past twelve months or so in lovely Libra, expanding our focus on beauty and love and overseeing a growing appreciation for different kinds of beauty, Jupiter will brings its relentless drive for expansion into Scorpio on October 10th. The essential thing to remember is that Scorpio is a no-bullshit zone.  With Jupiter in Scorpio, there will be no hiding from the Truth.  And isn’t that what we want?  Really?  (Correct answer:  YES!!)

Venus and Mars will dance together in Virgo for the first half of the month.  Mars is the masculine force, and Venus the feminine, creating a need for balance and integration between these two polarities as well as the humility and discrimination of Virgo.  This is the beginning of a new two-year Mars/Venus cycle, and favorable for new relationships.

Balancing polarities as we see in the Venus/Mars dance is also a Libra theme, and the Libra New Moon on October 19th will encourage us to find that balance and equilibrium within.

We should get a bit of a planetary break this month since there are no major planetary aspects to stimulate major change or action.  There is a lack of fire energy in the skies right now, creating more of a sense of calm for the first few days of the month until the Aries Full Moon on October 5th

The first few days of the month are highly energized, especially as relationships are concerned.  Our personal needs may clash with those of our partners, but a harmonious influence of Pluto may help to assure that personal growth will continue to occur if we remember that life is a balance of opposites: the positive and the negative, male and female, yin and yang.

This dance is embedded in the chart of the Aries Full Moon – another symbol of polarities since the Sun is in Libra, the sign of balance, and the Moon is in Aries, Libra’s opposite polarity. Aries is self-oriented where Libra attempts to balance self vs other – finding that sweet spot in the middle is the message of the Aries Full Moon on October 5th.

Several aspects culminate after the Full Moon but their energies are locked into the Full Moon energy: Mercury brings mental clarity and a desire to communicate and transmit the information of wisdom at this time, and Pluto adds intensity and drama as it inspires us to transform our interactions with those around us. A Saturn influence helps to ground us, but also causes some restriction and potential problems to work through.

These energies are heightened between the 3rd and the 9th, and by the 10th when Jupiter moves into Scorpio we are reach to shift our attention and our focus in a new direction.

The 11th and 12th will feel more focused, but may bring up an issue which will not be ignored. This is a good time for writing and communication of all kinds, and also to find a resolution to an interpersonal problem that requires tenderness and care.

Venus enters Libra on the 14th.  Libra is Venus’s own sign, and it is most happy there – relationships can blossom over the next few weeks, and it mostly becomes easier to enjoy a broader perspective and see all sides of a question. Still, between the 14th through the 16th communication may be somewhat problematic and feelings are likely to be more easily hurt.  This is a time to tiptoe and using kid gloves, as resolution of problems will be more difficult at this time.

Once Mercury (the mind and communication) enters the intense sign of Scorpio on the 17th difficult conversations will become easier and very little will be swept under the proverbial rug.  This is especially true on the 18th when everyone needs to be right and there will be little give and take.

The Libra New Moon on the 19th seeks the unexpected and is ready to break away from routines and establish new paradigms.  Following its love of harmonious interpersonal relationships and beautiful surroundings, the Libra New Moon is a good time to begin a new beauty routine and connect with your loved ones in a new way.

Mars moves into Libra on the 22nd, urging greater balance and integration and encouraging us to find greater harmony, but the Sun moves into Scorpio on the 23rd and the energy around us darkens and intensifies our very being as we move into Scorpio season of power and magic. Our emotional truth now takes precedence over the niceties which Libra prefers.

Still, the 24th is a harmonious day of creativity and spiritual connection, and the period between the 24th and 26th are generally favorable for most situations.

The 27th brings a day of challenges in relationships, with the potential for secrets to be revealed and issues of power to come to light.

Astrological weather influences us, but does not rule us.  When we are prepared for a thunderstorm we can get through any situation!

As always, if you would like to explore how these influences affect your own chart and life, consider scheduling a personal consultation with me.

I hope you have a wonderful month!!

peace and best wishes,
