Planetary Illuminations for 9/2018

horoscope planetary energies eraoflightdotcomMAJOR SEPTEMBER EVENTS

The harmonious inspiration for creativity involving Saturn and Uranus which I describe above culminated last month, but continues to unfold for the first couple of weeks of the month.  There is abundant inspiration and motivation released by this planetary dynamic to power our goals and dreams into action.  Both Saturn and Uranus are in Earth signs which help us to ground our ideas into reality and give our dreams a practical application.

Over the summer in the northern hemisphere we have had a heavy retrograde emphasis, with five planets retrograde during parts of July and August.  When more than three planets are retrograde, meaning they appear to move backwards as we observe them from Earth, it can be difficult to move forward in our lives. Our attention is drawn to the past – we tend to overthink things and get bogged down in regret.  As September begins only three planets are retrograde – this is the most common number of retrogrades and gives us a nice balance of forward movement combined with the perspective that comes from learning from the past.

Both Saturn and Pluto will turn direct in September, and by the end of the month only one planet will be retrograde which is extremely rare. This is an excellent time to make plans for change and growth as the planets are primed to help make things happen!

SEPTEMBER DETAILS

Between September 2nd and 4th communication flows easily to facilitate our relationships, and we may find ourselves somewhat focused on matters of nutrition and health.

Mercury enters Virgo on the 5th and for a few weeks our attention will be focused on the details of life.  This is a great time for planning and organizing!

Ceres enters Libra on the 6th, and for the next couple of months our interactions with others will be an important part of how we nurture our bodies and our souls.  This is not a time for isolation – with Ceres in Libra isolation is more likely to lead to loneliness. A challenging aspect from Chiron during the first week of September suggests that we may have a tendency to neglect ourselves and our need for love so let us try to be mindful and give ourselves the gift of friendship and connection.

The 7th is a day of creativity and inspiration as our higher mind opens up insight and wonder (this may extend to the 6th through the 8th).  We may not feel super energetic around that time but the mental activity will be exuberant.

Venus intensifies on the 8th creating the potential for conflict, especially when Venus enters Scorpio on the 9th at the New Moon.  Venus will remain in Scorpio for quite some time because she will retrograde in October, so hunker down and prepare for a great deal of truthtelling in your relationships and interactions with the humans in your life.  Venus will retrograde back into Libra at the beginning of November but until then we have an opportunity to create and transform our relationships to be meaningful and a powerful force for change in our lives.

The Virgo New Moon on the 9th embodies this intense Venus energy, and a strong Neptune aspect enhances our inspiration and imagination.  Virgo is more earth bound, so a balance is needed here between the fresh new start in our day to day lives afforded by the Virgo New Moon with the yearning to break free of the yoke of the material world inspired by Neptune.  Uranus has a strong influence as well, adding excitement and a desire to forge a new pathway and a way to add bits of magic to the mundane details of our lives.

This magical fairy dust is enhanced on the 10th when Mars re-enters Aquarius, waking us up to new paradigms and expanding our mind and ensuring that we do not remain bored or stagnant for long.

A lovely dance between Jupiter and Pluto helps to inspire expansion and confidence to enable real transformation and a greater sense of empowerment between the 5th and the 15th are so. The one wet blanket in this inspiring period is Saturn – during this same period watch for a tendency to disregard the body’s need for nutrition and comfort and make sure that you are taking care of yourself during this time by eating well, and beautifully, and taking time to create some beauty in your life.

Meanwhile, harmonious solar aspects on the 11th will help make that a happy day, and on the 12th we could end up with some surprising interactions with others that help us to break out of a routine and perhaps create new and better relationship patterns.

Things may get a bit confusing on the 13th, and this is not an ideal time for anything requiring mental focus.  However, the 12th-14th IS a good time for doing healing work on others or on ourselves.  Relationships are particularly important on the 14th and an adjustment may be required in order for us to move forward with greater clarity.

The 15th-16th of September are excellent for clear thinking and planning, or for business meetings as communication is particularly clear during this time.  Beginning around the 17th there is potential for conflict and accidents so be mindful of this through the 19th, and then clarity returns on the 20th.

Mercury leaves cautious Virgo for Libra on the 21st, and for a few weeks (until early October) our mind will turn to matters of love, beauty, aesthetics, peace and harmony.  It will be easier to find common ground and avoid arguments during this time, and tact and diplomacy will prevail except around the 22nd when we are likely to be hypersensitive to criticism and more easily hurt.

Also on the 22nd and into the 23rd, we may find ourselves clearing up something unresolved from the past.  This might feel uncomfortable but will, I promise, turn out to be a good thing.

The Moon is full in Aries on the 24th.  This is a highly dynamic Full Moon as it is tightly connected to Mars, the ruler of Aries.  This is a “double whammy” (highly technical astrological term!) that connects Mars with the Moon, and when the aggressive force of Mars meets the sensitive emotions of the Moon it’s not always that comfortable.  In this case Chiron’s wounding and healing energies are wounds around Mars, the Sun and the Moon so we are likely to experience an eruption of old emotional hurts and the clearing out of psychic debris.  It may not feel like it at the time, but this is always a good thing!

The 25th-28th bring several short-lasting energy shifts to restrict us (the 25th) and encourage self-care (the 26th-27th) and finally to energize us into action (the 27th-28th).

And finally, on the last day of the month, Pluto turns direct.  Pluto has been stuck at the same degree for a long time, and it will finally begin to move forwards which is good news for anyone (like me) undergoing a Pluto transit.  Pluto inspires complete and total transformation and often takes a ruthless route to accomplish this goal.  It’s not always easy, but if we look with an open heart we will see the gift that lies beneath the difficulty.

A powerful way to end the month!  I hope your September is full of love. growth and wisdom.

Lynn
